New colleague Ruud

Quick introduction

Veldhoven, 4th May 2021

My name is Ruud van der Ark, 44 years old (or young). Together with my wife Sabine (43) and two wonderful boys: Sem (14) and Djim (11) we live in the beautiful Kerkdriel. The village Kerkdriel is located in the Bommelerwaard and is an island between Maas and Waal!

Outside of work I have a big passion: swimming. After (or before) work time I often visit the swimming pool at least three times a week. Lovely lap swimming, the ideal (injury-free) cardio training. A strong workout to stay healthy and fit.

But, in my free time I also love cooking, having a barbecue and drinking a nice, tasty glass of wine, to sum up: Enjoying life together with my family! Is it nice weather in the weekend? Then you can often find me at the recreation area de Zandmeren in Kerkdriel sailing on the Maas from the marina. Our favourite country to go on holiday to is Italy and then in the special village of Tignale, close to Lake Garda.

I have quite a lot of experience in the area of operational, facilitation and general management and as a person I am very curious and always open to learning new things.

At my last position, Jumpsquare Group, with a close-knit team and as the head of Operations, Construction and Facility since 2016, I was able to set up more than 40 indoor trampoline funparks (Jump XL and Jumpsquare) in different countries.

At NGU everything has happened so quickly… A nice meeting, some days later a concrete follow-up meeting. Why did it go so quickly? Everyone was instantly enthousiastic and I felt directly at home!

The choice of working at NGU Mobile International was made quickly… Firstly, because the offered services and the target group of the platform were of interest to me. I have a lot of interest in hardware, telecom and ICT, so that matches well with the products that we represent here. In addition, I see a close-knit (and overall pleasant) team and the accessible organisational structure as a big plus. These elements combined with the offered services made the choice for an innovative company like NGU easy.

A quote which has a lot of value to me is “do what you say, say what you do”. That refers to clear and transparent communication with the client. Telling them what you’ll be working on and actually doing it. Trustworthy, clear and fair!

At work I often use my enthousiasm, strong communication skills and my bravery to ask the right questions. With communication I like to keep it straight to the point and direct. I look forward to thinking creatively to create innovative solutions that suit the clients and partners of NGU. Full of energy, ambition and passion we are going to achieve something great. I’m super excited!
